Ramadhan Mubarak!

Oops, sorry, for not being a good blogger this month. But lately, i just interested to playing with photo tones, maintaining my new site to collects all my foods pictures collection (you can check it here if you like) and promise! i'm ready to write again start from next month! *finger cross* Well, it's mean tomorrow :D and wow! tomorrow gonna be the first fasting day!

Anyway, It'll be my 2nd Ramadhan being far away from my family. The first one, at 2008 when i was worked at fascinating Siberut island. Well, i have to say, i really enjoyed the time, that's not quite hard even i still had to worked because i surrounded with a cool team : Bangkai, Dodo, Uni and Husnul (you guys still rock!!). Everyting in Siberut leaving an unforgetable memories for me. Like, one moment that when our worship became kind of performance for people who watched it.

We were the only moslem there, and sometimes (Hehehe, to be honest, during that ramadhan we just did it for maybe less than 10 times) when we did our worship (Tarawih) on the night, we have to did it at Uma (the big house for team gathering) why not in our room? simply, not enough space to us! So, we have to did it in Uma, so where's the problem? Well, since Uma is the only one big place for all the teams, start from local guides, researches, and us to gathering together. It supposed to be crowded at the night, so for convenience, we asked they permission to did our worship, and what happened next was they watched us! It's so funny! Truly! Is seems like we were did kind of performance and the guides sometimes my researcher, Christin also watched it. For them, it was so awesome when we did same movement based on one command (.......) yeah, it so odd. Hahaha!!

But i still remember that time, not just by mind, but also by my heart (Hehehe). I really appreciated the local guides' tolerance and understanding. Like, when we had to worked and (usually) had a lunch together in the middle of forest while watched our monkey's troops activities. During Ramadhan, they showed their tolerance by didn't said anything if they wanna lunch (usually they asked permission to have a lunch together), or sometimes just keep in distance from me and said sorry if they had a lunch. And the big surprised was they reminded me to end my fasting on magrib time! I really appreciated their understanding!

*sigh* i'm totally missed my time at Siberut.

Anyway! Tomorrow Insyaallah gonna be my first fasting abroad and i hope i can go through it well.

May this holy month bring us happiness, strengthen our Imaan, erase our sins and purify our heart.

Ramadhan Mubarak!

For me, rain always looks romantic through a window.

Seoul is flooded!!

Mulai dari selasa - kamis kemarin, Seoul dilanda hujan sepanjang hari. Suer! Ga berenti berenti. Berdasarkan laporan dari departemen klimatologinya, curah hujan mencapai 400 mm sehari, no wonder cuma dalam waktu 3 hari Seoul pun collapse. Sungai Han, sungai terbesar di Seoul meluap, beberapa wilayah selatan di Seoul longsor dan banjir terjadi dimana-mana : Jalan tol, kompleks perkantoran sampe stasiun subway. Beberapa transportasi umum pun terkena dampaknya, subway yang biasanya datang tiap 5 menit ini molor jadi 1/2 jam, beberapa line dibatalkan. Begitu juga bus. Parah! Paraah!

Although we only did our duty as an organization dedicated to public transportation, thank you for your compliments, and we will strive to become a Seoul Metro that cries and laughs with all citizens.

Salut bener dah sama transportasi umum disini! *Pray for Seoul*

Family comes first

(Fyi, rumah gw bersebrangan langsung sama taman hutan raya pancoran mas, tempat bersemayam mamalia-mamalia kecil macam musang. Macan? jelas ga ada, lah hutannya cuma 6 ha)

Bokap : (ga mau kalah) Ikan bapak juga udah gede-gede yu! udah bisa dibakar lhooo! umm, apa perlu bikin kolam lagi yah?

(Fyi lagi: bapak gw dengan semangat membaranya ngebangun sendiri itu kolem kecil di halaman rumah, tapi kalo malesnya lagi kambuh, jangankan ikan, lumut aja ga keliatan. daaaan sekarang mo bikin kolem lagi?? ckckck, ampun jendraaaal!!)

Ade gw : Eh mba, hamster anis sekarang jantan semua looh!

And, sooner or later rumah gw bakal jadi saingan beratnya Ragunan.... Ckckckck.

10 Facts about "K"

AJUMMA

Youth Korean

Bukan, bukan nama boyband, tapi muda-mudinya Korea. halaah,  muda-mudi, berasa tahun 90an. Anyway, cewe-cewe disini selalu berhasil membuat gw mangap dengan indahnya. Kenapa? Tipis, kurus + jangkung abiiiis! Oh, 1 lagi, metroseksual. Salah satu personil boyband Korea favoritnya Jo, temen gw pernah ketangkep kamera manicure-an di salah satu skin care-shop deket kampus gw (what the....)

 Mobile Phone

Buat foreigner, beli hp disini kaya mo beli tanah : butuh surat lengkap.

  Food Sharing

Korea is not for loner, and it's true! Hampir semua restoran di Korea make sistem food sharing atau paling ga porsinya segede gaban, Well, kecuali resto fast food macem burger king, Mc'd, KFC.

Hehehehe.

Cafe and Coffee Shops

Pernah nonton drama Korea 'coffee prince'? kalo gw, jelas belon. Hehehe.

Bukan teman sehati menurut gw. Dan entah kenapa sampe sekarang lidah gw masih ga tahan sama fermentasi sayuran yang satu ini, rasa asem + pedesnya tetep aneh buat gw.

Cats Around

Went to cat cafe with my labmates, very close from Konkuk University station, subway line no. 2. Just walked less than 5 minutes from exit no... umm, sorry, i forgot. Hehe, and you will find it. So easy to reach this place.

The entrance fee is about 8,000 won (around Rp. 56,000, soooo expensive if i compare it in rupiah) and it including one drink. In my opinion, the idea is creative. Since there's a lot of Korean people (especially girls) crazy about pet like cats and dogs (you have to see cats over my school, they are too fat! looks like Garfield i guess. The girls love to feed them with Kimbab! Kimbab!! No wonder they are so fat) but they don't have enough space in their house and usually they living in apartment and it not allowed to bring pets inside. So, made a place like cat cafe and let the visitor playing with cats as long as they want is a creative idea.

Wondering if i take my friend, Della to this place, she might be screaming, yelling, crying and try to find the highest place which unreach by the cats. And i will not let her go away! Hahahahaha! (Goood, i'm sooo bad! But just imagined it already makes me laugh)

And one idea pops out! Maybe someday i can make a reptile cafe, fullfiled by snakes like albino python, viper? Hahaha! No way for this one! and several reptiles. Hemm, good idea.

My labmates: Soojung, Yunhee and Hyoyoung

Just go upstairs to 3rd floor

Quote Of The Day

Sometimes we get lazy to step outside and we hide behind our comfort and fear and assumptions. Step out and see what's out there. The reality is, after all, much better than not facing one.

I adore her as a smart and creative blogger, entrepreneur and her extraordinary taste in fashion, even i'm not a fashionista but her taste and braveness to show her unique style is soooo original!  I love the way she puts everything together and comes up with something stylish. So coool!

Wanna More Naan!

Maybe there is no summer vacation for me this semester T_T(since i have to thinking and start to writing my research proposal). But it doesn't mean i can stop to having fun. Hohohoho! At least i still have time to exploring nice restaurants around Ewha.

So tonight me and Soojung had a nice dinner at one Indian-Nepal restaurant in one alley around Ewha (Well, after get lost for 15 minutes) Both of us totally fall in love with Naan (Indian flat bread) and Lassi (Indian traditional yoghurt) and guess what?? Surprisingly, we got more free Naan from the owner! Yippie!! ^^

Lassi and Nan. Slrrup!

Summer is Coming to The Town!!

Barbecue party with labmates and professor to celebrated SUMMER at Nanji camping park!! So weird maybe if i make this party to celebrated summer in Indonesia. Hehehe.

Nanji camping park is a public camping area next to Han river, the biggest river in Seoul. This camping site run by city government. So impressive to see how Korean Government managing riverside becoming a public park and visitors able to relax and take a leisurely stroll, rollerblading and bicycling around the park. And  the site is fully equipped with a convenience store open 24/7, laundry facilities, a hot shower, a charcoal grill, and a gas stove, so all you need to bring is yourself, well, foods for grill of course and if you want to stay overnight you can even rent a tent. Still feel impressive with the riverside management.

The information from website, we can just walk 15 minutes towards Hangang Park from Exit 1, World Cup Stadium Station (Subway Line 6) or 15 ~ 20 minutes walk towards Hangang Park from Exit 7, Mapo-gu Office Station (Subway Line 6). But based on my experience, it is better if you just take a taxi from subway station. It is more than 20 minutes by walk!
